General Employment Permit

The General Employment Permit covers a wide range of roles not included in the Critical Skills list. It requires more documentation and is subject to a Labour Market Needs Test (LMNT) — which means the employer must demonstrate they tried to hire from Ireland or the EEA first.

  • Non-EEA nationals offered a qualifying role with a salary of €34,000 or above
  • Companies who have completed or are exempt from the Labour Market Needs Test
